Happy New Year!!!!

Aloha!!!!

We have all survived the first semester of a school year full of change. Congratulations to all of you Beginning Teachers who may have gained a semester closer to tenure and mahalo to all of you Mentors who have supported our beginning teachers enabling them to survive the dreaded December blahs that we have all read about!!!

A lot has happened since we have last updated this blog.  Here's a recap!!!

In December we held a Mentor PLC and our mentor reviewed their Program Completion Portfolios. A huge thumbs up to our mentors who are working diligently!!

A week later we held a Social at Ruby Tuesday in the Salt Lake Shopping Center.  Everyone who attended enjoyed the delicious foods and fun Holiday games.

In the new year we have already held a Beginning Teacher PLC on deconstructing the Common Core State Standards and learned a lot from our CAST Formative Assessment/Data Team Resource Teacher John Newkirk.  Thank you John for sharing your knowledge!!

Our new hires who just started this month (WOW!) received their training on EES/Charlotte Danielson in a two-day training.

Many of our Mentors participated in a training at Kipapa School on Analysis of Student Work that was led by Anne and Kacy and many more will participate next week for Differentiated Instruction.

As you can see Central District Induction and Mentoring Program is going full steam ahead!!!

Some reminders:

Complete out mid-year survey using the google docs link that was sent to you via Lotus Notes and plan on attending the upcoming PLCs for Mentors on February 6th and Beginning Teachers on February 27th.

Here's to a great semester!!!!
